Starting a Community Orchard

Picture
Sonshine Orchards is our organized effort dedicated to help provide information, resources and assistance for those that are interested in beginning a Community Orchard in their local area. It is often said, "Information is helpful to have before you need it to prepare for when you need it." We might not have all the answers, but it is our desire to help you by sharing what we know.

In our efforts to start our orchard, we discovered many resources from others that shared information with us and we wish to share those with you. Stemming from our passion, it is our way to “give back” some of the blessings we have received along our orcharding journey. Contact us so we can better understand your plans and make some suggestions that will further your efforts. There is no charge for our consultation, nor do we profit from offering our assistance.

We can help you with...

  • Educational resources
  • Land acquisition
  • Stewardship
  • Grant funding and sources
  • Orchard planning
  • Committee commitment
